The 2018 Australian Tattoo Expo in Perth was a huge event for the tattoo industry and an unforgettable milestone for us at Sabian Ink. Held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. The expo brought together some of the best tattoo artists from across Australia and beyond. Along with thousands of tattoo enthusiasts who came to celebrate the culture we all love.
For our studio, it was more than just another convention. It was a weekend where our work truly shined, thanks to the incredible accomplishments of our own Ata Ink.
Ata’s Standout Achievements
One of the highlights from Perth 2018 was Ata’s standout performance on the competition stage. Ata walked away with the expo’s top recognitions. Tattoo of the Day and Best of the Day, along with multiple other trophies across the weekend. That Tattoo of the Day win was a huge moment for us. Seeing his colour realism and multi-session work acknowledged in front of an international crowd was special. It showed that his work can shine anywhere in the world.
The Expo Experience
While Ata’s awards were the highlight for our studio and team. The expo itself was packed with energy and activity. Here are just a few things that made the 2018 Perth Expo such a memorable event:
Live Tattooing: Attendees could watch artists in action. From flash tattoos to large-scale projects that unfolded over multiple days.
Competitions Across Styles: Categories which ranged from traditional and Japanese to fine line, black & grey, realism, and more.
Merchandise & Vendors: From tattoo supplies and aftercare products, to original prints, clothing, and art. The expo was full of things to explore and browse through.
Live Entertainment – Performances and shows gave the event more of a festival feel, keeping the atmosphere lively and engaging.
The Perth Expo was more than just a showcase of tatttos. It was a celebration of tattoo culture and community. We connected with new clients, caught up with fellow artists, and shared our passion with people from all walks of life.
